NAVIGATING THE VARIOUS ELEMENTS OF A PRACTICE
MICROBATICS
Here we move into acrobatic manoeuvres, approaching inversions, navigating falling & rising, activating our ability to consciously relax, manipulate tension, and refine our dynamic strength capacities, and of course a few other things will definitely appear along the way…
The microbatic practice stems from a personal necessity of developing an approach to the world of inversions as well as navigating all manoeuvres and directional choices in an agile and dexterous manner.
It is informed by earlier setbacks and injuries, which in turn required an evolution to the working methodologies presented.
This forms the foundation of the practice.
The individual is invited to integrate the acrobatic language seamlessly and precisely into their system. Through this approach, the method aims at nurturing our ability to blur the edges between what separates acrobatics and movement of all dimensions.
Expect to cultivate and evolve your abilities to react, support, expand, balance, unravel, soften and exchange all in an attempt to deeper understand the practice and its potential.
DESCRIPTION
ORRIENTATION
This looks at seeing deeper into the very fabric of how, why and what we practice.
Imagine we each hold a compass, which contains many more cardinal points than simply north, east, south and west.
Instead, it contains a multitude of different possibilities and potentials hidden within each of us.
These possible directions each symbolise parts of our selves which we can choose to nurture or move away from. To define what these directions are we can look at the following questions.
• How do we navigate the various physical dimensions?
• Why do we choose to practice?
• What can the nurture of our cognitive and internal world do for our general experience and perception?
By engaging in these questions, we can perhaps make more sense of why we choose to do any of this in the first place.
Through this lens we:
Cultivate a broader field of vision, to see things clearer.
Engage in deeper listening to really hear the, what, why and how of our practice.
Become more attuned to our instinct and sense of direction.
Like this we become more familiar with our compass and begin to orientate ourselves towards where we would like to go from here and beyond.
